Matilda Castren is a professional golfer currently competing on the LPGA Tour, and is a recent winner on both the LPGA and LET Tours. She also represented Finland in the 2021 Olympic Games, and represented the victorious Team Europe in the 2021 Solheim Cup.

Castren was born in New York in 1995, but spent most of her younger years in Finland. Representing the Finnish National Team in various individual and team events were some of her best memories growing up. Upon completing high school in Finland, going to Florida State University to play collegiate golf and complete her bachelors’ degree was a natural step for her on the path of playing professionally. She graduated in 2017 with a degree in International Affairs.

Castren spent the years 2018 and 2019 playing on the Epson-Tour in the U.S, which was a great preparation for the highest league in the world, the LPGA Tour. She went on to earn her spot on tour through qualifying school in the fall of 2019.

So far, 2021 was the most special year in her career as she was able to achieve many childhood dreams, such as winning both on the LPGA and LET tours, competing in the Olympics, and playing in the Solheim Cup for Team Europe. In her 3 years on the LPGA Tour she has 7 career top-10 finishes and over $1m in career earnings.
